July 16 Update

Church Family,

At this time, in spite of current trends in Waller County, Harris County, and the state in general, we will continue to hold Sunday morning worship services at 8:30 and 10:30AM.

Pastors Blake, Joel, and I are obviously concerned with the rise of cases and the strain being placed on hospitals. The situation in Waller County is worsening, but not to the extent that we feel the need to cancel our Sunday morning worship services. We feel the precautions we are taking are adequate at this point in time. Unless we receive additional guidance from Waller County authorities, we will continue as we have been doing.

We will continue to hold Sunday worship services at 8:30AM and 10:30AM, and we will continue to stream our early service at 10:30AM on Facebook Live. You can find a link to our live stream on our website at https://www.wallerbc.org/live-stream/. You can also find an audio-only live stream there, too, if streaming video does not work for you.

PLEASE NOTE: We would like to reserve our 8:30 service for those who are 65 and older. Our 10:30 service will be for “all ages.” If you are under 65, we would ask you to attend our second service. If some in your household are over 65 and some are under, then attend the service you are more comfortable attending; if you do not have a preference, please attend the 10:30 service.

ALSO, lately our attendance has been significantly higher at 10:30 and lighter at 8:30. We would ask that some of you (over 65) who have been attending at 10:30 shift to our 8:30 service.

REMEMBER to please wear a mask while you are in the building. If you do not have one, we can supply you with one. Masks may be removed while seated during the service. AND, please remember to try to maintain social distance (six feet separation) from those who are not members of your household, and wash your hands or use our hand sanitizers upon entering the building.

Our Adult Bible Study will continue to meet online, Wednesday nights at 6:30PM. You can contact Pastor Erich if you want to participate in that. Our Ladies Bible Study will go back to meeting online on Wednesday mornings starting 7/22. Contact LeVelle for more information. Our Students Bible Study will continue to meet on Wednesday evenings outside the Student Building at 6:30PM.

At this time, we do not know when we will resume additional activities (Sunday School classes, children’s ministry, Seasoned Saints lunch, etc.).

As a final note, please remember those who have been infected by this virus and their families in your prayers. While thankfully none of our church members have been affected directly (to our knowledge) some of our members have other family members and friends who have been infected. Pray for healing, peace, and comfort for all involved.

If you have any questions or concerns with any of this, feel free to let me know.

Thank you,

Erich Hurst

Administrative Pastor

On Site Services Resume May 10

We are excited to have the opportunity to worship in person with you again, we also want to be mindful of our current circumstances and follow state guidelines aimed at minimizing the risk of contagion. With that in mind, here’s what you need to know before attending this Sunday.

_____________________

We will have two services, at 8:30AM and 10:30AM. Doors will open at 8:00AM and 10:00AM. We are not taking reservations at this time; seating will be first come, first served.

The first service at 8:30 will be recorded and streamed on Facebook at 10:30AM.

There will be no Sunday school, no children or youth programming, no nursery, and no fellowship time. We are only providing worship service for now.

_____________________

Please wear a mask covering your nose and mouth when entering and leaving the building. After you are seated in the sanctuary, feel free to remove your mask.

Maintain six feet of separation as much as possible between you and members of another household while you are inside.

Avoid hugs and handshakes. Sorry!

Hand sanitizers will be available at each entrance to the sanctuary.

_____________________

Greeters and ushers will be available to help show you where to sit.

In order to maintain six feet separation, we are only utilizing half of the pews in each service. The “odd numbered rows” will be used in one service, the “even numbered rows” in the other.

Also in order to maintain separation, household groups will be seated at the ends of the pews, not in the middle. A household group with 5 or more will be seated on a pew by themselves.

The balcony will not be available for general seating.

_____________________

These procedures will be in place until further notice. We will do our best to stay up to date with the latest orders and guidelines of the state and county, and we will update our procedures when appropriate.

_____________________

While we would love for every one of you to attend, there are certain conditions under which you should remain home.

PLEASE STAY HOME if, in the past two weeks, you have been in close contact with a person who was confirmed to have COVID-19.

PLEASE STAY HOME if you are experiencing any symptoms of COVID-19, or have experienced them in the prior 72 hours:

  • Fever of 100.0 degrees Fahrenheit or more
  • Cough
  • Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
  • Chills
  • Repeated shaking with chills
  • Muscle pain
  • Headache
  • Sore throat
  • New loss of taste or smell
  • Diarrhea

It is RECOMMENDED (but not required) that you stay home if you are in the “at-risk population” who are more susceptible to complications from COVID-19. The Texas Department of State Health Services considers the at-risk population to be those who are 65 or older, especially those with one or more of the following:

  • Chronic lung disease
  • Moderate to severe asthma
  • Chronic heart disease
  • Severe obesity
  • Diabetes
  • Chronic kidney disease undergoing dialysis
  • Liver disease
  • Weakened immune system

If you fall under one of these categories, or are just understandably uncomfortable about attending, we will continue to stream our worship service online on Facebook at 10:30AM. You can get to it from our website, www.wallerbc.org/live-stream. We will also have an audio-only stream on our website, which is good when your internet speed is not fast enough for video.

If you have any questions about this, call the church office or email Pastor Erich at [email protected].
