Jonie Scruggs, Author of Scandalous Grace
Acts 19, Ephesians 1:3-11
God’s glorious grace should result in all praise to Him. Not only does He love us, but He also chose us…to be holy and blameless before Him. We may spend time gaining the favor of others but no need to do that with God for He chose us from the beginning. He takes pleasure in us. We should praise Him for His glorious scandalous grace. He has a good plan. At just the right time, He will bring all things together in Christ. Everything works out according to His plan.
Paul wrote most of his writings while in prison. Often we feel as if we are in prison, bound by such things as anger, fear, depression, anxiety, and frustration. Our prison may be a time for God to reveal His plan for us. We may think we cannot serve God because we are in bondage. If Paul had not been in prison, he probably would not have had time to write the Scriptures we have today. God is able to turn our past into a platform, an opportunity to glorify Him. Nothing goes to waste in God’s plan. His plan is always good, for our good and His glory.
What is your prison? Perhaps it is the prison of performance or expecta-tion. We have been chosen therefore no need to perform for God. The good plan is about God, and not us. He is all-powerful. Trust Him and take delight in His scandalous grace!
