Meet Blake Nichols, our Senior Pastor! Blake joined the staff of Waller Baptist Church in 2011 as our Pastor to Students. After serving in that capacity for several years, the church called Blake to be our Senior Pastor in 2016. We are excited about the journey we are taking and the vision God has placed before our pastor in leading us to serve and reach our community and grow the church for His glory. The opportunities are unlimited and we would love for you to be part of our family!

“My prayer is…that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you…so that the world may believe that you have sent me.”
John Isom has served on the WBC staff since March of 1980. He graduated from the University of Houston in 1970 with a business administration degree in accounting. After working for IBM as a computer systems analyst at NASA on Skylab and Space Shuttle programs, God called him to service at WBC to serve as Minister of Music and Youth, he enjoyed eight years of working with the youth, taking as many as 50 youth to summer camp. After completing seminary masters’ degrees in Religious Education and Marriage and Family Counseling, (and after getting too old for those all-night youth lock-ins) he became Pastor of Music and Education in 1988. He has served as the President of the Singing Men of Southeast Texas and enjoys leading studies on Biblical backgrounds and on family life. He is currently serving WBC as bi-vocational Worship Pastor and Pastor of Senior Adults while also working in the community as the Director of the Waller Economic Development Corporation. He and Barbara began dating at a high school summer youth camp and have been married since 1968. Barbara is retired from Waller ISD and the love of his life!
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.”

She and husband, Leon, have been married 50 years and have two grown sons and four grandchildren. One of Martha’s many favorite Bible verses is about stewardship and it is found in Luke 6:38: “Give, and it will be given to you. Good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over, will be put into your lap. For with the measure you use it will be measured back to you.”

Charley has two adult children: daughter Kim, mother of his precious granddaughter Mayzee, and son Mark who lives in Little Rock, Arkansas with his wife Emily who is expecting their first in March 2017!!. He is developing an equine program for the state. One of Charley’s favorite Bible verses is “For you are a holy people unto the Lord thy God, and the Lord has chosen you to be a peculiar people unto Himself above all the nations that are upon the earth.” Deuteronomy 14:2.
LeVelle joined the WBC Staff in August of 2003. She relates to the Bible character Anna “who did not depart from the temple” after becoming a widow. (LeVelle’s husband Joe went home to be with the Lord in February of 2003). LeVelle was born and lived in Houston, Texas for most of her life. Her husband Joe retired from The Houston Chronicle newspaper in 1990 and she resigned her position as Office Manager at NAVCO, a manufacturing plant that same year. They moved to Waller in 1991 where they both worked actively in The Mission Closet & Pantry of WBC (which closed when Waller Assistance and Restoration Ministries or better known as W.A.R.M. began its ministry) until illness prevented Joe from continuing at The Closet. They also served together in the Church Library. LeVelle continues to volunteer as WBC Church Librarian and at W.A.R.M. where she serves as Secretary to the Board of Directors as well as for the Waller Ministerial Alliance. She is a proud grandma and great-grandma. She is called grandma-on-the-go by her family. LeVelle sees all these activities as a way to serve her Savior, her family, her church family and her community. LeVelle finds living for Christ is exciting!
