B.L.E.S.S.: 5 Everyday Ways to Make a Difference in Your Community,
Genesis 12:1-3
WBC Vision: to share to our world the exciting, life-changing Gospel of Jesus Christ. We also need a vision of what the church really is. WBC is not a building but WBC is people. We are WBC! Statistics show that 75 percent of people who come to Christ are through personal relationship.
Application:
You are incredibly important to God’s plan. Acts 17:26-27: “From one man He made every nation of men, that they should inhabit the whole earth; and He determined the times set for them and the exact places where they should live. God did this so that men would seek Him and perhaps reach out for Him and find Him, though He is not far from each one of us.” This verse tells us that God chose the time and area in history that we would live. Why? So we would seek Him and find Him.
God’s plan has always been to overflow blessing. Genesis 12:1-3 records the call of Abram. God told him that He would bless him and that he would be a blessing. Furthermore all peoples on earth would be blessed through him. In Acts 2: 42-47, we see the early church taking care of each other…”and the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.”
Evangelism is not a bad word. Definition: Someone who spreads the good news of the Gospel. Jesus didn’t knock on doors but as He did life, He shared the Gospel. His purpose was to seek and save the lost. He accomplished this with individuals in intimate moments. An example of this is his encounter with Zacchaeus that ended up with Jesus going to his house for dinner.
As individuals, we are to be like Abraham and be a blessing to others. As WBC, we are to be a blessing to our community. Here are 5 everyday ways to make a difference in our community:
Begin with prayer.
Listen to people.
Eat together.
Serve with love.
Share your story.
