But I’m Tired & It’s Steep
Habakkuk 1:2, 3:17-19
There are times we are not sure we can make it. We’re tired and the way ahead is steep. Even Biblical characters experienced these emotions:
Psalm 22:2: “My God, I cry out by day, but you do not answer, by night, but I find no rest.
Habakkuk 1:2: How long, Lord, must I call for help, but You do not listen? Or cry out to you, “Violence!” but You do not save?
Habakkuk 3:17-19 gives us the right way to handle it when we’re tired and the way is steep: Though the fig tree does not bud and there are no grapes on the vines, though the olive crop fails and the fields produce no food, though there are no sheep in the pen and no cattle in the stalls, yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will be joyful in God my Savior. the Sovereign Lord is my strength; He makes my feet like the feet of a deer, and He enables me to tread on the heights.
In the midst of chaos, focus on God, not circumstances. God may not move the mountain but He will give the ability to climb and take the mountain. Make the choice to rejoice in the Lord for He is our strength.
