From Hurt to Hope

Ruth 1 tells the story of Naomi & family leaving Bethlehem to go to Moab because of famine.  There her husband & eventually her two sons died.  She returns to Bethlehem with her daughter-in-law Ruth because she heard the famine there was over.

 Two Places:

• A Land of Promise in Bethlehem
• A Land of Hurt in Moab

Two People:

• A Woman of Honesty: Naomi
• A Woman of Humility: Ruth

Two Needs:

• They need food.
• They need family.

Two Pictures of God:

• God is great.
• God is in control.

One Promise:  God allows sorrowful tragedy to set the stage for surprising promises.

Sin from your past does not eliminate hope from your future.
