Good God Almighty
He’s a Need Meeter!
Psalm 23:1, Isaiah 58:7-11
When we face difficulties, we may wonder if God is really good. An eternal perspective changes that. King David gives an example of this in Psalm 13. In the first four verses, he laments his situation but things change in verses 5-6 when he begins to focus on God: “But I trust in Your unfailing love; my heart rejoices in Your salvation. I will sing the Lord’s praise, for He has been good to me.”
Psalm 23:1: “The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing.” is a verse to claim when going through difficulties. Isaiah 40:11: “He tends His flock like a shepherd: He gathers the lambs in His arms and carries them close to His heart;…”
Application:
Remind yourself daily that God is your Shepherd. He will feed, lead and meet our needs.
Look for red flag moments when you are not allowing God to be your Shepherd. Some examples of this are when we are worried or try to self-shepherd or become pessimistic.
Relax and give God your issues. Hurry means worry. Our Shepherd wants to lead us beside still waters.
Trust Him for one day at a time. Our Shepherd is always here for us. Isaiah 58:11: “The Lord will guide you always; He will satisfy your needs in a sun-scorched land and will strengthen your frame. You will be like a well-watered garden, like a spring whose waters never fail.”
