Greetings from the Angel Gabriel
Merry Supernatural Christmas!
Daniel 8:15-19; 9:21-23; 10:5-6; 10:12 Gabriel’s Appearances to Daniel
Luke 1:11-13; 18-20; 26-30
Gabriel’s Appearances in the Book of Luke.
There are 185 recordings of angels in Scripture. That is more than on the subject of prayer or hope. There is a connection between two realms: supernatural and natural. What we see with our eyes is not everything. The Bible mentions three angels by name: Michael the archangel, Gabriel and Lucifer, the fallen angel. Jewish literature names 7 different angels.
Gabriel first appears in Scripture in the book of Daniel. His response was fear because of Gabriel’s mighty appearance. On the other hand, when Gabriel appears to Mary, she did not show fear at his appearance but of his message to her.
There are five lessons we can learn from the Angel Gabriel:
#1 Don’t be afraid of the future God has for you.
Daniel 10:12 Gabriel tells Daniel: “Do not be afraid, Daniel.”
Luke 1:13 Gabriel tells Zechariah: “Do not be afraid, Zechariah.”
Luke 1:30 Gabriel tells Mary: “Do not be afraid, Mary.”
#2 God hears your prayers.
Daniel 9:23 “As soon as you began to pray, a word went out, which I have come to tell you.”
Luke 1:13 “Do not be afraid, Zechariah; your prayer has been heard.”
Luke 1:30 But the angel said to her, “Do not be afraid, Mary; you have found favor with God.”
#3 God’s will is discovered in God’s presence.
Luke 1:19 The angel said to him, “I am Gabriel. I stand in the presence of God, and I have been sent to speak to you and to tell you this good news.”
#4 Nothing is impossible with God.
Luke 1:37 “for no word from God will ever fail.”
#5 Jesus is God’s Son, the forever King, sent to save us.
Luke 1:31-33 “You will conceive and give birth to a son, and you are to call Him Jesus. He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High. The Lord God will give Him the throne of His father David and He will reign over Jacob’s descendants forever; His kingdom will never end.”
