Reducing Worry: I Can’t Take Anymore
Matthew 6:30-34
Worry brings capacity problems in our life. We come to the place where we can’t take anymore. What did Jesus say about worry?
Matthew 6:30-34: If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will He not much more clothe you—you of little faith? So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.
Worry circles around uncertainty. It is the opposite of prayer. It is trusting self; prayer is trusting God. When we choose to worry, we are acting like pagans. Whenever worry hits your mind, push it aside. Seek first His kingdom and righteousness and He will take care of the physical needs. We do what we can, then lay it down and give it to God
Do not worry or do not be anxious is found many times in the Bible. Worry or anxiety is destructive. Jesus tells us don’t do that.
Remember:
1. Worry kills the capacity for faith.
2. Prioritize God; it enlarges capacity for life and faith.
3. Margins bring peace.
