Bible Text: Daniel 6 | Speaker: Blake Nichols | Series: Daniel | The Pressure of Being Used by God
Daniel 6
When we come under the pressure of being used by God, Satan tells us these three lies:
When things are going well, it’s time to relax. Truth: When God raises you up, you can expect people to tear you down. Daniel distinguished himself so well that King Darius set him over the entire kingdom. This didn’t set well with his peers so they looked for a way to bring him down. The only thing they could come up with was regarding his faith.
Use prayer as a last resort. Truth: When we pray, God gives us the strength to handle the pressure that we face. We need a plan to increase our intimacy with God. It doesn’t come naturally. We have to make it happen. When the decree came down that everyone was to pray to the king or be thrown into the lion’s den, Daniel continued to pray to the true God. Nothing stopped his relationship with his God.
Believe that whatever your situation is, the outcome is your goal. Truth: Whatever you face, you can trust God with the outcome. Faithfulness is the goal, not the outcome. Daniel faced the challenge in the lion’s den by looking at God and not at the lions. When times of pressure come, fix your eyes on God and continue to walk in obedience, be faithful to your calling and let Him handle the outcome. Daniel 6:28 tells us that Daniel continued to prosper during the reign of King Darius and King Cyrus.
