Two things to know about suffering:

Suffering is bad, not good
There are three causes of suffering:

Some suffering is the result of a fallen world
Some suffering is the result of unrighteous acts
Some suffering is the result of righteous acts

Prepare for suffering by turning away from sin (1 Peter 4:1-2)

Three things to expect when you turn from sin:

Expect to be tempted (4:3)
Expect to be pressured by others (4:4-5)
Expect to live for eternity (4:6)
