Speaker: Chris Stellhorn | Be the Moon
Sharing by Chris Stellhorn, missionary to Scotland
Pastor Blake shared the various ministries that WBC supports. He said that we are being the moon and reflecting God’s love. He quoted from the following song by Chris Tomlin:
Be The Moon
Verse 1: You’re the Lord of all creation. God, You made me in Your image
And I’m just a reflection of the love that I’ve been given
Pre-Chorus: Everybody wants to be somebody
I wanna be somebody too. If I’m gonna be known for something
I wanna be known for You
Chorus 1: I wanna be the moon up among the stars
Fly around the world lighting up the dark of night
I’m nothing without the Son’s amazing grace On everything I do
If You’re shining on me I’m shining right back for You.
I wanna be the moon
Tag: Lord I wanna be the moon for You.
Verse 2: Yeah there’s gonna be some cloudy days, sometimes it’s gonna cover-up
The work You’re doing in me But still, with every breath I breathe
Chorus 2: I wanna be the moon up among the stars
Fly around the world lighting up the darkest night
Chris Stellhorn: He shared the story of his 20-year ministry. He has been a pastor and also worked in college, youth, and children’s ministry throughout the years. There has always been a place in his heart for Scotland. He said that we all have a story. G.K. Chesterton said that an inconvenience is only an adventure wrongly considered.
Psalm 37:4: Take delight in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart.
When we don’t take time to delight in the Lord, it will not only affect our relationship with the Lord but with others as well.
He told about the need for ministry in Scotland. Only 50 percent claim to be Evangelical Christians, 23 percent are true Christ-followers and only 1 percent attend church regularly. There are few churches in Scotland. It is a pro-Christ culture. He believes that every community in Scotland should have a local church, just as we have here in America.
His name is Christopher Scott which means bearer of Christ in Scotland.
