Purpose of Gideons: Touch a Life with His Word

Here are a few testimonies from various areas of life in Italy who were changed when they received and read a Gideon Bible:
 

• SCHOOL: “Gideons were distributing Bible at a local high school when the principal angrily commanded them to leave or she would call the police. The distribution continued and the police were called. Two squad cars with blazing sirens came.  Once they discovered what the Gideons were doing, they said to keep up the good work.  Then they asked for Bibles for themselves and their police station.
• FIELD HOSPITAL: Italy was the hardest hit nation by COVID.  One gentleman was brought in, almost dead.  The doctors prayed for him and healing began.  He was given a Gideon Bible.  Not only was he healed physically but also spiritually.
• YOUNG PEOPLE: One young lady knew nothing about God. She was given a Gideon Bible and as she read it the Holy Spirit worked in her life and she received Christ as Savior.  Another young lady had been brought up in church but drifted away.  As she read the Gideon Bible she received, God spoke to her heart and she gave her life to Him.
• HOMELESS PERSON: One person received a Gideon Bible but angrily tossed it into a trash receptacle. It just happened that a homeless man was in it dumpster diving.  The Bible hit him on the head.  He picked it up and began to read it.  Eventually, his life changed and he was restored to a productive life.

God’s Word makes a difference.
