Value People
John 3:16 “…He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.” This is why: For God so loved the world!
Valuing people is essential to helping them find God.
Why is “The Why” so important?
Because how we value people is how we see people. Matthew 9:36 “When He saw the crowds, He had compassion on them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd.
Because we can’t partner with God if we don’t value people as God does. Jonah 4:10-11 But the Lords said, “You have been concerned about this plant, though you did not tend it or make it grow. It sprang up overnight and died overnight. And should I not have concern for the great city of Nineveh, in which there are more than a hundred and twenty thousand people who cannot tell their right hand from their left— and also many animals?” We can’t allow a bad experience to become a lifetime experience. John 13:34 A new command I give you: love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another.
Because we cannot be an authentic representation of Christ if we do not value people. John Maxwell: “We see someone as hurting, we will try to help them. We see someone as broken, we will try to fix them, but if we see someone as valuable we will try to serve them.” Philippians 2:3-5 Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of others. In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus. If they don’t like you, they won’t like your God either. When we reach out to our community: If we have a low value of people, they feel judged and they see a wall. If we have a high value of people, they feel loved and they see a bridge.
Because an unintentional life of not valuing others leaves people in the dark. We must intentionally value people because Jesus did. He valued the fishermen, the children, the blind man, the leper, the woman caught in adultery, the demon-possessed man, the woman with issue of blood, the woman at the well, the tax collector, the Roman Centurion, The Thief on the Cross.
