When God Points To All of You

Acts 22

Review from last week:  We talked about God’s presence in our life.   We considered how big God is; how small we are; how much God loves us.

In the movie “How To Train Your Dragon” Hiccup lives in a village of Vikings.  It is pointed out to him that there is nothing about him able to fight dragons.  We are also told by the world and even ourselves what is wrong with us causing us to feel unworthy.  But how does God respond?  He tells us that He loves us….He loves all of us.

How do you know God loves you?

1. God pursues you. Saul was on the way to Damascus to persecute the Christians when he had the encounter with Jesus. He was not seeking Jesus but Jesus pursued him.
2. God knows you. Jesus called Saul by name….He knows your name.
3.  Isaiah 49:1: …Before I was born the Lord called me; from my mother’s womb, He has spoken my name.
4. God chose you for a plan. God had a plan for Saul’s life and He has a plan for you…and each of us.

God created us in His image.  Psalm 139:13 tells us that He knit us together in our mother’s womb.  God is the Wonderful Maker as we are told in the song.  God makes…God creates but satan destroys and twists the truth.

Remember who you are in Christ.  Celebrate how God made you.  If you are unable to celebrate yourself, then you won’t be able to celebrate others.

Acts 22:16: ¹⁶ And now what are you waiting for? Get up, be baptized and wash your sins away, calling on His name.’

Sin separates us from God but God has provided salvation through Jesus Christ.  Let God wash away your sin.
