Series: For Such a Time as This
‘Noticing God’
In the book of Esther, God is not mentioned but nevertheless, He was working out His will and purposes. The events of the book occurred during Israel’s exile as a result of their unfaithfulness to God. God is preparing roads so that in time the Gospel would flow across the land. From creation in the book of Genesis through the book of Revelation, the hand of God can be seen at work.
What a lesson for us: During those times, when we don’t see God working or feel His presence, we can be confident that He is moving His plans along. He even uses evilness to bring to pass His will.
The Same God vs Changing God.
He is the same unchanging God. Often, our thoughts of God change when we think He is not operating according to our time schedule.
Point 1: Fear and/or despair is a red flag that my thoughts of God are changing.
Point 2: Assimilating into culture is a red flag that my thoughts of God are changing.
When I don’t see God moving, I must continue to believe God is moving.
Our Challenge: Choose to believe, to know God is there even if we don’t see Him working or feel His presence. When we start believing, we will begin to see God moving.
