Christ is Better
1 Chronicle 28:1-8
This Scripture is King David’s last speech to Israel. The question we are addressing is “How do we read and know that Christ is better?”
King David’s opening expresses his desire to build a temple for the Lord but the Lord told him that he was not the one to do that task. There are times that our dreams are not fulfilled so how do we handle it? Do we allow it to make us dissatisfied with God?
God chose David to become king of Israel and has chosen us to perform good works. Ephesians 2:10: “For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.”
Solomon was given the task to build the temple. In his later year, he failed to follow his father’s advice. Matthew 22:37: “… Thou shall love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all they soul, and will all thy mind.“ What about us? When we put Jesus in first place in our life, we will truly know He is better. He is better in heaven and on earth and in the heart of believers. True satisfaction is found only in Him. Christ is better! Hebrews 1:3-4: Who being the brightness of His glory, and the express image of His person, and upholding all things by the word of His power, when He had by Himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high: Being made so much better than the angels, as He hath by obtained a more excellent name than they.
