Good God Almighty
Hope for the Future
Psalm 23:6 Surely Your goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.
God’s goodness is never in short supply but is in abundance causing our cup to overflowing. Do we live as if our cup is overflowing or our cup is overwhelming? Paul and Silas were in prison and yet they were praying and singing praises to God despite the fact they had a very bad day. Circumstances do not matter in God’s timetable.
What habits can we establish to live the abundant life?
Stop running out the door every morning without God. We need to spend time meditating on and soaking in God’s Word and that will prepare us for the day. Even five minutes in God’s Word can make your day. John 15:5 tells us we are to abide in Christ.
Stop griping and start being thankful. Scripture encourages gratitude. See Philippians 4:6, 2:4 and Colossians 2:7.
Stop comparing yourself to others and instead be content. Paul learned contentment in all circumstances. See Philippians 4:11. Proverbs 14:30: A heart at peace gives life to the body, but envy rots the bones.
Stop being stingy and instead be generous. 2 Corinthians 9:6-8 … God loves a cheerful giver and God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work.
