Speaker: Blake Nichols | Peanut Butter & Jelly Gospel
Romans 10:9 NIV: 9 If you declare (confess) with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
God is pleased with us because we have received Jesus as our Savior and our sins are forgiven. But often we think we need to do something in order for God to be pleased with us. A peanut butter and jelly sandwich demonstrates that we cannot add or take away. If you remove the peanut butter, there is no longer a peanut butter and jelly sandwich…or if you remove the jelly, it is no longer a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. Likewise, there is the cross and there is the resurrection…and both are required. The cross provides forgiveness for our sins and there is nothing we need to do. The death of Jesus covers our sin. Jesus declared, “It is finished!”
The resurrection is the opposite of the cross. The cross represents death but the resurrection brings life.
Matthew 28:20: …And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
Jesus promised to be with us always. He rules by the Resurrection Principle.
How do we live in light of the resurrection?
1. Believe in your heart that Jesus rose from the dead.
2. Walk in the joy of the resurrection. As the song states: The resurrected King is resurrecting me.
3. Remember God’s promise to be with us always…He is with us in His Word and with us as we fellowship with His people and celebrate the resurrection.
He is risen! He is risen indeed!
